Dropps Laundry Pods Review

Truth be told, I don’t really know how I found dropps laundry pods but I’m so glad I decided to check them out! I am 100% all about automation and have started really trying to limit single use plastics & unnecessary waste in my household and dropps is the perfect answer! It’s SO easy!

I have sensitive skin that tends to get a little congested and just doesn’t love laundry detergents filled with all sorts of crazy ingredients and fragrances, etc. I love using dropps sensitive skin unscented pods but they also have clean scent, fresh scent, and lavender eucalyptus options available (all scented with natural essential oils). They’re compatible with all machines, safe for delicate fabrics, naturally formulated, and free of fragrances, perfumes, dyes, chlorine, and phosphates.

I also love that dropps are manufactured right here in the US! I’m all about supporting your local economy and as an added bonus – less worldwide travel means less emissions and energy/waste that goes into moving product. Dropps’ packaging is 100% recyclable, compostable, and repulpable. The shipping box is also the container which I love. I really feel like I’m making an impact in reducing waste.

According to the dropps’ website, traditional laundry detergents typically come in high density polyethylene containers. 68% of these bottles are not recycled and contribute to the 275 metric tons of plastic that end up in our oceans & waterways annually.

Now you might be thinking, wait a second. Aren’t these pods made of plastic?… You couldn’t be more wrong! The pod membranes are made with a water soluble, biodegradable film of polyvinyl alcohol. Once used in your washer, the film dissolves into micro-particles…. Again, don’t panic. As many as 55 species of microorganisms that are naturally present in water and soils break down this polyvinyl alcohol. Research has shown that in river water, polyvinyl alcohol takes no more than one month to break down into their component parts. Pretty cool and wayyyyyy better than a giant plastic jug sitting in a landfill for years and years.

Since I first tried dropps unscented laundry pods, they’ve now expanded their line and feature fabric softener pods, oxi booster pods, dishwasher detergent pods, mesh washing bags, baby products, and more! I always like to mention too, another great feature of dropps is that they’re actually cheaper per load than most detergents you’re probably using now! The planet… your wallet… everyone wins!

You can easily subscribe (and save 20%!) so there’s no more “uggggh this is the last of the dishwasher detergent” situations happening, and they have a sweet rewards program that gives you discounts on future purchases once you achieve certain milestones.

If you’re interested in checking out dropps for yourself, this referral link will get you $20 off your first wash plan order shipment (which I can promise you won’t be your last)! While your freshening up your laundry routine, why now spring clean your beauty products too?
