So today on the blog, I was mid post writing all about how Equilibria has changed my life and then I realized with living in California and with the massive amount of research I’ve done, I probably have a greater sense of understanding about CBD than maybe most others or people who are just now hearing about how amazing CBD is. I decided to split the post up into two parts so if you’ve already done your research and just want to know about Equilibria and my results, feel free to jump to Part Two. If you want a quick mini lesson on exactly what CBD is, this is the post for you!
Before we go any further, I did want to mention that the team over at Equilibria has been so gracious enough to give all my readers 15% off their first order when you use promo code CCWK!
What is CBD?
There are around 140 cannabinoids found in the Cannabis Sativa plant. You’re probably most familiar with CBD and THC. CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring substance that can create a feeling of relaxation and calm. THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) on the other hand, is the major active ingredient in marijuana with psychoactive properties.
Did you know that our own bodies also produce cannabinoids? That’s right, even human breast milk contains cannabinoids.
Will CBD Get Me High?
Not today girlfriend. There are two primary species of the Cannabis Sativa plant we mentioned before, marijuana and hemp. While both contain CBD, there is a much higher percentage of THC in marijuana than hemp hence why most people looking to get “high” choose marijuana over hemp. With hemp, there’s less than .3% THC and higher levels of CBD so hemp is used for a variety of products that won’t get you “high”, like Equilibria’s entire product line.
Is Equilibria/CBD Legal?
You bet! Which is so exciting to those who may be looking for stress, anxiety, or pain relief that don’t live in a recreational cannabis state. How, you ask? The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 legalized hemp bred & sold with .3% or less THC (which if you remember from above, is what gives the “high” feeling).
What Are Some Things CBD Is Used For?
Before we jump into this section, I just want to remind you, I’m not a doctor and CBD companies can’t make claims about what CBD “cures” but every day there is more and more research & studies being done showing the positive effects of CBD on a variety of ailments.
If you’re interested in starting a CBD regimen, definitely bring it up with your doctor to discuss what might work best for you. Not the same thing (but related lol) my little pup, Jax, has seizures and prescription drugs just weren’t working for us. His vet actually suggested I explore some hemp CBD oil for him to reduce the number and severity of his seizures and I’m happy to report, it definitely worked for him!
CBD may be helpful in improving the following:
- Joint or Muscle Stiffness
- Pain Relief
- Trouble Falling & Staying Asleep
How Can I Take CBD?
CBD can be taken or administered in a variety of ways. There are topical creams or ointments that you can apply to muscles & joints to get a localized release. There are droppers or vape pens that administer effects quickly but aren’t as long lasting as other options. There are also soft gels or edibles that may take longer to produce results but are longer lasting than vape pens or droppers.
So now that you have a foundation of what CBD is and what it’s used for, head over to Part Two to learn all about my journey with Equilibria and how CBD has changed my life! If you still have any questions about CBD leave them in the comments below and I’ll be sure to get back to you and update the post!
