Okay let’s get this out of the way first. I LOVE all the “fake” food holidays that have all of a sudden started popping up. I mean hello – today is a perfect day to shout from the rooftops “YES I KNOW GUACAMOLE IS EXTRA AND I DON’T CARE BECAUSE TODAY IS NATIONAL AVOCADO DAY!” #treatyoself

So in honor of National Avocado Day, here’s a quick run down of my favorite avocado goods (because let’s face it, I’m about as #basic as this holiday haha)

Three In One Ultimate Avocado Tool & Preserver

Okay don’t laugh.. but seriously this little $10 contraption is one of my ALL TIME favorite kitchen tools (I have a cake pop maker, dog treat maker, and a fondue kit to give you a gauge of how vast my kitchen tool collection is) but this is honestly always in the front of my drawer.
The avocado holder really does keep the other half fresh for a few days, which is definitely better than the ziplock bag browning I was getting before. After a nearly losing my thumb one morning trying to remove the pit to make avocado toast too, this cutter/depitter/slice combo tool is also a god-send. Seriously it makes it so easy (total first world problems over here) and quick to break down your avocado.
*I’d also like to give a big shoutout to Santa who included this in my stocking last Christmas. You’re the real MVP and I’d like to report that I’ve been especially good this year. #keepemcoming

Avocado Oil

Full so of the same healthy fats as its olive oil cousin, avocado oil is a healthy oil that’s perfect for salad dressings sauces or even cooking with (since it has a high smoking point). It has a light flavor and I frequently use avocado oil for stir frys or anything on the stove vs using olive oil, which you’re more likely to get off flavors from since it has a low smoke point. There are also studies that show olive oil shouldn’t be heated to above 200 degrees C, so I made the switch and haven’t looked back.

Here’s one of my favorite avocado oil salad dressing recipes:
Ingredients
1/2 cup avocado oil
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tsp dijon mustard
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp sea salt

Instructions
Combine all ingredients together & stir until thoroughly combined.
Store in fridge until you’re ready to use!

I Avocan’t Even Mug

… because mornings. Am I right?!

The 2018 Version of the Friendship Necklace

If you don’t have matching avocado keychains with your BFF are you even best friends?

I Wanna Be Avocuddled!

Don’t we all. haha I mean if I don’t buy for my new nephew, I feel like I don’t even stand a chance in winning the Cool Aunt award.

The Super Trendy Dad Hat

Have you seen a cuter embroidered hat? It comes in five colors including a really cute yellow and this pink and is just screaming to be worn to a post yoga, pre errands weekend brunch. For only $15, I’m definitely adding this to my list of fun little gifts I’ll grab for some of my girlfriends. #avocadogang

The Ultimate Pool Float

If you invite me to your pool party and don’t have this floatie waiting, I’m not coming… jk. I’m totally coming because San Diego has been so incredibly hot recently. This could also be a really fun pool game, throwing the pit and trying to land it in the avocado.

Please tell me I’m not alone in celebrating this joyous occasion today. It could be a fun purchase or even splurging on guac at lunch, let me know if you celebrated National Avocado Day!
