My October 2020 Traffic & Income Report

Some links may be affiliate links. I may get paid if you buy something or take an action after clicking one of these at no additional cost to you.

Can we all just agree this year has been a rollercoaster? I’ve been a full time blogger (back when I was furloughed in the spring), a part time blogger, a blogger who doesn’t actually blog, and everything in between. It’s now mid-December and surprise, with another furlough happening, I’m finding more time for my blog. I made the commitment to publish monthly traffic & income reports so I’m posting both October & November’s recaps today. I’ll go ahead and back date them so they’re easy to find and hopefully with the extra time off, the new year, and getting really intentional about my goals – I’m back to blogging more consistently! As always, if there’s something you want to see on the blog, let me know!

Blog Posts I Published In OCtober

annnnnnd we’re coming in at a big fat zero posts published for the month of October.

Google Analytics

My October snapshot metrics:

  • 392 users (down from 479)
  • 448 sessions (down from 589)
  • 548 page views (down from 870)
  • 1:45 average time on page
  • 4.46% bounce rate
  • 11.5% returning users

It’s no surprise that all my main analytics are down this month considering that I didn’t even touch my blog.

My Favorite Deployment Quotes is still my most popular blog post with 184 page views (which I think has a lot to do with my Pinterest efforts). 30 Things To Do During The First 30 Days of Deployment was my second most visited post (with 82 page views) and my third most popular post was 15 Bible Verses For Deployment.

Pinterest

There have been a ton of recent algorithm and Pinterest updates in the last few months so I’m not even really sure how to compare this month’s metrics to previous months. (It also doesn’t help that I wasn’t actively creating any new pins)

My Overall Pinterest Traffic Numbers for October

  • 39,181 impressions
  • 24.64k total audience
  • 1.72k engagements
  • 1.13k engaged audience

My Specific Chit Chat With Katie Content Metrics

  • 38,813 impressions
  • 24.21k total audience
  • 1.7k engagements
  • 1.12k engaged audience

Instagram

I’ve shared my love of Iconosquare before and still stand by it as a great tool to manage my Instagram & Facebook pages but I actually have to post. <face palm>

  • 0 posts
  • 363 Instagram followers (+7)
  • 568 impressions
  • A reach of 302
  • An engagement rate of 0%

Facebook Page

Much like Instagram, I didn’t do anything with my Facebook page in the month of October either.

Here are my Facebook analytics:

  • 20 page likes
  • 39 impressions
  • A reach of 14
  • 2 engagements

October Income Report

Total Income Earned $3.39.

Affiliate Sales

Amazon

For the month of October, I received 7 clicks resulting in 1 ordered item and a 14.29% conversion rate. The total revenue of shipped items equaled $12.99 and with a $3 bonus, I ended up earning $3.39.

SiteGround

If you read some of my previous income reports, you’ll remember I had a $50 pending payout from SiteGround. When I went to log in and pull a screenshot for today’s post, I noticed that the commission payout has been cancelled. The domain is still up and I’m pretty sure it should be a credible sale, so I’m going to reach out to SiteGround and see why it was cancelled.

Creative Market

I’m love Creative Market and immediately applied to their affiliate program when I launched my blog. Creative Market allows affiliates to earn 15% of new customer orders. I had two clicks but no sales through Creative Market in October.

Services & Products

Work was crazy for me in October and since I didn’t have time for blogging, I didn’t have time to take any side jobs or launch any new products.

Collaborations/Brand Partnerships

I didn’t have any income from collaborations or brand partnerships in October.

Expenses

Total Expenses $51.95

Canva Pro – $12.95

Canva is the tool I use to make all my blog headers and pins for Pinterest. I’m working on upping my Adobe skills but in the meantime, I’m still using Canva almost daily. If you haven’t used Canva yet, this referral link will get us both a Canva credit!

Iconosquare – $39

I used Iconosquare at my full time job before launching my blog and wouldn’t be able to do my job on social media without it! It’s by far the most affordable and robust social media scheduling & analytic reporting tool out there. Iconosquare easily shows your growth, lets you analyze what content is performing best, and allows you to schedule automatic posts all from an easy to use dashboard. I can’t wait to deep dive into some Iconosquare tutorials with you all soon!

And that’s all she wrote for October, now to crank out November’s recap and work on some new timely content!

And as always, if I can help you with your blogging journey at all you can always reach out and email me directly!
